Care Providers

Information for people considering work with a CSIL employer.

Working for a CSIL employer

Under CSIL, the client, representative or client support group acts as the employer and directly employs care providers for authorized home support services.

Specific job duties, schedules, wages, training and employment conditions are determined through the employment relationship and the client's assessed care needs.

Before accepting a position

  • Clarify the role, duties and expected schedule.
  • Confirm the employer and who will provide workplace direction.
  • Discuss training requirements for any specialized or delegated tasks.
  • Confirm payroll, vacation, statutory holiday and other employment terms.
  • Ask how emergencies, absences and shift coverage are handled.
Note: This website does not recruit or place care providers. It is an information resource about the CSIL model.
